What are the administrative fees or interest charged by JMU to CCLS?
The JMU Foundation does not directly administer interest rates in the traditional sense (as a banking or lending institution would.)  They do have a spending rate that guides how the endowment funds are distributed to support the university's various needs.  The Foundation's target rate of spending for endowments is set at 5%.  This rate is applied to a 12-quarter moving average of the endowment's market value.  Of this spending rate, 4% is allocated for the endowment's purpose while the remaining 1% is used to cover Foundation management expenses.
What happens to CCLS should further monetary goals not be reached?
The initial goal to establish the endowment has been met.  While there is no penalty or repercussion for not reaching additional goals, any additional funds raised will enhance the endowment's impact by increasing the potential return and the amount available to reward.
